Thomas C. Shea Named President, Zimmer® Dental
(CARLSBAD, CA) May 5, 2004 – Zimmer Dental Inc., a leading provider of dental oral rehabilitation products and a division of Zimmer Holdings, Inc., is pleased to announce that Tom Shea has assumed the position of President, Zimmer Dental.
Prior to Tom’s promotion to President, he served as Zimmer’s Vice President, Corporate Sales. He joined Zimmer in 1981 as Vice President, Marketing for the Hall Surgical Division of Zimmer. Prior to joining Zimmer, Shea served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Hall Surgical (then a division of AMSCO) prior to its purchase by Zimmer. In 1986, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, with additional responsibility for Research & Development. He also served as General Manager for the Hall Reconstructive Systems business, which marketed Hall’s oral and maxillofacial products as well as dental reconstructive implants. Shea left Zimmer to serve as Vice President of Marketing for a start-up endoscopy equipment company, and returned in 1992 as an Area Sales Vice President.
Tom’s extensive background in medical and dental sales, marketing, and general management span more than two decades and will provide Zimmer
Dental with the leadership needed to drive growth in the expanding dental market.

Tom will relocate from Warsaw to Zimmer Dental’s headquarters in Carlsbad, California. In his new role, he will be responsible for sales, marketing, distribution, manufacturing and product development of Zimmer’s dental products on a global basis.
Zimmer Dental, is a California-based operation. The company, which started in 1981 as a member of the Sulzer Medica consortium of medical device manufacturers, has six direct sales offices and 49 distributors worldwide that sell products and programs to dental clinicians in over 47 countries.
