SULZER CALCITEK INTRODUCES BIOMEND EXTEND™
A Longer-Lasting* Absorbable Collagen Membrane
CARLSBAD, CA ( September 27, 1999) -- Sulzer Medica’s California-based subsidiary and dental practice building company, Sulzer Calcitek, now offers BioMend Extend, a longer-lasting* absorbable collagen membrane designed to aid in periodontal tissue regeneration procedures.
BioMend Extend is cell-occlusive and space maintaining. Its three-dimensional matrix allows integration of connective tissue flaps and passage of essential nutrients, reducing the possibility of membrane exposure and gingival recession. BioMend Extend is fully absorbed within 18 weeks. Because it is absorbable, there is no need for a second surgery to remove the membrane.
BioMend Extend is derived from bovine Achilles tendon, one of the purest sources of Type I collagen commercially available. Each lot is certified non-pyrogenic.
