Zimmer Dental Expands Renowned Zimmer Institute
 Zimmer Dental Inc., a leading
provider of dental oral rehabilitation products and a subsidiary of Zimmer Holdings,
Inc., is pleased to announce the expansion of its renowned
Zimmer InstituteTM educational program. In order to
meet the growing demand from clinicians and participating universities and institutions,
a third Zimmer Institute location has been erected in Parsippany, NJ (the
other two being in Carlsbad, CA, and Winterthur, Switzerland).
"'Zimmer Institute East' will establish a much-needed East Coast presence,
doubling the capacity for our state-of-the-art, hands-on, simulated patient-based
education in the United States,” said Harold C. Flynn. Jr., Zimmer Dental President.
“This reinforces Zimmer Dental’s commitment to expanding its comprehensive offerings—which
includes industry-leading education and innovative new products."
Specifically, this latest Zimmer Institute facility will best serve the
thousands of clinicians as well as the local universities/institutions in the Northeastern
region of the United States, although attendees from across the globe are welcome,
including those in the central and eastern parts of Canada who will also undoubtedly
benefit from the new location.
The ribbon-cutting for the Zimmer Institute East occured in April 2010, with the
inaugural course planned for the same month.
Welcoming its first class in 2006, The
Zimmer Institute offers a comprehensive implant training program,
backed by a reputable university or organization, and led by world-class faculty.
A key component in the process is the proprietary Simulated Patient Training Laboratory,
which allows participants to refine clinical skills through hands-on training utilizing
Zimmer Dental' products on lifelike mannequins.
